Had short talk about the weirdness that Ollie was feeling. I think that getting things out in the open helped a lot and I made it clear that if he can't handle me being with someone else then it'll be his loss. Of course I'm not gonna throw Ollie in his face but if there's ever a reason they have to meet and Skep gets funny about it, he'll be the one losing out...
He makes me so smiley and feel so amazing and special, without it being stupidly serious or anything... :) It's good to feel so understood and uncomplicated, finally...
*points to song* This song came on once I left O's place and it summed up how I felt so well!

Yeah, finally made it 100% clear Skep, sprogface and "my ex" are all the same person... it went down how I expected, if not better... he's amazing really when it comes to just being mature and sensible about stuff. I mean, he was understandably a bit 'weirded out' (his words), but he's said he'll live.
It's not as though I spend all my time with him. I don't even think I talk about him much, he's just been mentioned a few times... but he is still a friend of mine *shrugs* I guess I'd be the same, but at the end of the day I'm with Ollie and I don't want to be with Skep... I'm happy where I am now :)
Just hope I didn't ruin the night, seeing as just moments before he'd said something along the lines of "How is it I can be in the most foul and awful mood, but after just a few moments with you it all disappears?"... *fuzzy feeling* :)

| Christmas night out |
[21 Dec 2008|10:41am] |
Went out with "people from work" last night... although it wasn't really people from work, since most of the people from work were out with their other mates :S
I met with Ollie and his brother in Lloyds and had a couple of drinks... I've never had so many people turn and stare at me when I walk into a bar/club before, it was incredible! We moved on to Varsity and had another drink and a chat... bit of a giggle. Ollie tried to get a guy to swap shirts with him, but he seemed pretty attached to it :( Mike met us in there dressed to impress and had a drink too. Then we made our way to Trebles but didn't go in cos it looked pretty packed so we went into "The Still" which was a pub nearby and we had more of a chat and a the boys talked about stuff while I giggled at them. Ollie let me choose some songs on the jukebox thing which was fun :3 Got me in the mood for the night properly :D We left so that the smokefaces could have their death sticks and Alex (Ollie's brother) found a flip-flop, which he told me I needed to keep as a reminder of our night out... so I did. Lol.
We then decided on Ritzy/JJs for our final dancing place. We were on the guest list, which was cool. Oh, don't forget that I got ID'd in each of these places - woopwoop XD Got in and got another drink and had a bit of a wiggle before Ollie found out I'd never been in there before so took me for a wander around the different levels as they have different music on each floor. We then had a sit down and stuff until I decided that I wanted to go dance downstairs. We cuddled up and had a bit of a giggle with this guy saying about how he's too old for coming out - silly man!
The rest of the night was a lot of fun. I danced and didn't give much of a thought to other people. Was just there to have fun, and anything that got confused could get fixed up... had fun being a big flirt with Ollie and lots of fun being a bit of a tart with Mike once I found out that he had a gf so he was just around to have fun too :) I'm really glad that we had our little chat, it's cleared things up. When the club closed I rang mum and she came to get me from The Works. I used Ollie to keep warm and gave them all hugs to say bye. It was a pretty stress/hassle-free evening
In one way or another things are cleared up with people now, I think. Ollie's a bit crushed but I think he'll bounce back fine! I just didn't want anything to happen like that... if anything happens it's not going to be that easy :P Plus I still like Chris... we'll see how things go there before I can get anyone else's hopes up... although part of me thinks Ollie might be a better choice... hmmmm...

| Life |
[13 Dec 2008|09:51pm] |
Life at the moment has been pretty awesome...
I'm living in a house full of people who care about me where I don't need to pay for anything and I have my own space and lots of things to entertain me and keep me warm.
I have a job and work with lots of very supportive and friendly people who have recently shown that they recognise that I do my best to be friendly, polite and helpful to the customers that come through the store even though they do my head in half the time. I am being taught different skills in said job that allow me to be all sorts of levels of useful to the managers and supervisors and let me do my job even better.
I have been dancing for about 5 months now and appear to be doing very well at picking it all up and adjusting to different styles and leaders as well and being able to dance in stupidly high shoes and think that I am picking up style tips as I go.
Dancing has allowed me to make new friends that I get along with really well for one reason or another and who I love talking to and can look forwards to meeting at least once a week and are bringing new perspectives and experiences into my life that I appreciate a lot.
I have been through university and that's left me with a science degree and experiences I would have never gained before hand as well as another sent of pretty amazing friends, despite the fact that we hardly talk, if we ever do it's nice to catch up :)
Until late last night I was just happy... but now it feels a bit like this happy life is being picked at. Several of my new friends are moving away from me for the holidays, I won't be able to see my grandparents much (if at all) over christmas due to work and after christmas my entire family is moving down the country and leaving me home alone... I would probably love the second part if it wasn't for the first part! We'll see, I'm sure I can find a way to make it work... I'm just a bit scared now. I was ready to not be at home last year, but the fact that I will be at home but no one else will is just weird and scary...

Edit - Re-did it being more honest... I'm slightly less normal, but not much, lol

My Wish :: Rascal Flatts |
] |
I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow, And each road leads you where you want to go, And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you. And if one door opens to another door closed, I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window, If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
But more than anything, more than anything, My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish.

Hold my hand let’s chase the sun We both know something’s begun Nothin’ feels that real without you Wanna learn so much about you
Shining star I’ve seen your face Everything falls into place Nothing else seems to matter You bring me to life
Feels so lonely, Won’t you show me, Where I need to be, You bring me to life.
Feels like the raindrops on my skin, You reach me somewhere deep within, You make my body come alive, You bring me to life.
I whisper things you never knew, I can’t believe that tonight I’m here with you, You make my body come alive, You bring me to life.
See it burning in my eyes, Don’t want words, Don’t want no lies, They say more than what is spoken, Promises always get broken.

And have a certificate to prove it!!!
For Skep's birthday, back in February, I decided that his 21st birthday present should be something memorable. An experience that he will be pleased with and be able to talk about for the rest of his life... there were several planned ideas, but they were all very short-lived and needed a large amount of funding. I eventually found a great site for experience-type presents... pilot lessons, driving experiences, make overs... and sphering! I manage to look up a group who do it in several areas of the country and order a coupon for "harnessed sphering for two" and give him the coupon in his birthday card. He LOVES the idea and all we then needed to do was book the date. Time passed and we weren't near each other long enough to get our arses in gear...
While he was on holiday in Faliraki I decided that time was running out and we needed to book it there and then, so I looked up dates and asked Skep to let me know if it was ok. He said sure thing and it was booked... all we then had to do was wait and hope that the weather was fine.
I woke up this morning at 9am... that is after waking up at some stupid time because Cyan was getting ready to go see dad... lol :x I get up and check the internets and Skep is online so we chat a bit before I go to get washed and fed before we have to leave. I make sure I have all the information we need and that I'm dressed correctly. My morning was just me waiting for the day to fail... I put off calling up the centre, but when I did I was assured they had lovely weather and all was going ahead; "Awesome!" I replied, followed by a thank you and then I continued on with my getting ready.
We set off around 11... giving us an extra hour and a bit to get there! Journey goes well, I enjoyed driving around different roads and stuff and occasionally even impressed Skep with how well I'm able to drive (which is no easy feat, let me tell you!). We get there in time to sit down and take in the area the place is set up in. It's a very small portable shed thing with a port-a-loo and a large hill... I sat and watched a bit and started to get nervous...
We walk into the 'office' and the guy gets us to sign paper that says we have told them we're fit to partake in this "extreme sport" and are told that we can get a video taken of us if we'd like... for an extra £10. There's also a sign letting us know that if we really love it we can roll own again... for £40.
We get called over for our turn and harnessed up before we walk over to the guys with the ball itself and are told to throw ourselves through this hole... I fail at this and infact end up being rolled on top of the guy who was strapping us in... embarrassing! We get talked through how to hold ourselves and then get rolled down and it was good fun... I can't really remember it past the realisation it wasn't as bad as I'd expected and that I REALLY needed to keep my head from the edges... lol
Then we get another guy jumping in, asking how it went for us and un-strapping us. Skep manages to bound out of the ball head-first and the guy comments he's never seen anyone doing it like that before, which made me giggle - trust Skep! I then spend a while dithering around and eventually try to push my legs out first and have to get Skep to basically drag me the rest of the way!
All in all, it was a good experience as a whole day. The driving to new places, doing something new and interesting. We also then used Skep's satnav to find us a Morrisons for lunch and assessed their food to the one in Lincoln. I believe they have worse cookies and better American style chicken bites... we had a giggle at the fact that we only popped in for a short while and when we got out there was a flyer on the windshield! If that wasn't amusing enough, I then looked up while eating my sammich and there's a sign forbidding the passing out of flyers! XD
The trip back again was boring... didn't get to be as silly and I was getting tired and fed up toward the end... didn't help that I knew what was going on so it was just dull. Skep was amused by the "quintessential" Englishness of a lot of the towns and fields that we drove through, which I thought were pretty :3
I have been informed that Skep had a great time and that this even tops his 16th birthday... which was also my (and mother's) doing! I win XD

| Meeting Ali |
[17 Oct 2008|09:13pm] |
Went into town today... I was meaning to appear early and get some thigns done in town, but I left a bit late and then as I left I saw a hedgehog toddling along my lawn. I watch it for a bit and it's walking funny, so I go over and poke it to se if it can curl up... it barely moves so I try to decide what to do... do I throw it in a hedge and see if I see it again, allowing me to definitely be on time to meet Alister in town?... or do I take it to Weirfield to be looked after ready for winter, but run the risk of maybe even cancelling this tea-date? I end up calling Weirfield, figuring it wasn't an important "date" and that I <3 hedgehogs... they say to bring him in and Sarah seemed pleased to hear from me. When I get him there I notice he has small yellow/white flecks on him, which Sarah said were fly eggs, along with a tick on his bum. At least I know he's in good hands :)
I managed to be nearly parked when I get a phone call. I pull over and Ali asks where abouts I am and we arrange for him to start his way to meeting me. We decide to grab some lunch and go up to the "Slug and Lettuce" pub, which was REALLY nice inside :) I just get some chips and a coke and we just talk about stuff. It was really cool, I'm enjoying getting to know new people and stuff... just need to arrange another meeting when I have money so I can repay him by buying him something and having more of a chat... since we only had a couple of hours in the end cos we both needed to collect small children...
I then picked up Kezia and Claire from school and we made fairy cakes, which was a bit solid but still edible and nice :3 It was cute letting them do the baking, too... and kept Claire out of trouble cos she's generally a bit of a menace... I'm gonna be an evil mum when I eventually have kids...

At The Lawn, Lincoln
I just got back a little bit ago and I had such a great time. There was still a lot of siting down towards the end and I definitely got to experience some... "different" styles of dancing, but it was a great night out. This was made all the more special by the fact that I was told that a) I was as good as a at least base-level advanced movers and b) to a leader who hadn't ever danced with me before and is considered a very good dancer by a lot of people I trust, it comes across as though I'd been dancing a lot longer than I have! So I'm all happiful about that :x
Oh, another piece of good news is that I now have a job at Somerfield. It means I'll be getting money and will have something to do with my life, hehe. Got my induction on Monday, so woop :3

| Animal Trade - done! |
[02 Sep 2008|08:16pm] |
Well, after a months revision and many MANY pages of notes being written, I'm done with all that malarky and off into the big wide world. I'm pretty sure I did well enough to pass and so I'm now looking out for a job. Right now I can only get my head around the idea of having a little christmas job... anything bigger and more grown up blows my mind... so we'll have to see how things go now. Keep an eye and an ear out and play lots of Guitar Hero 3 in between ;) (well, Viva Pinata once that arrives, but in the mean time, it'll be GH :D)
Just thought I'd let y'all know! xx

| Kieran's Wedding |
[24 Aug 2008|02:03am] |
On Saturday I went to the first wedding of one of my friends. Hopefully the first of many :)
It was a pretty busy day. I woke up early to go feed the rabbit I've been looking after and grab a bus into town. My brothers had driven Pica to see dad and so dad had said that he would pay for me to hire a car for the day and I was so excited! :D I get there a bit early and had to answer some questions, while a guy with long grey hair types and clicks at a computer. After a bit of faffing because I didn't realise I'd need the paper part of my license (doh!) I got a grey/silvery 1.4 Vauxhall Astra and it went VROOM as I drive it out of the lot.
Cyan and I are both going and get ready, I curl my hair all one my own and even though it loks a lot bigger than I was hoping,I think it's quite cool. We have all our directions and get in the car with everything we need, leaving a bit late and, when Cyan looks on the paper it's scheduled to take longer than I thought, too... so therefore I KNEW we'd be late... just not as late as we were. The directions sent us on some random turnings and we had to stop at a pub to ask for help, but we got to the church! ... just in time to see the bride and groom having their photos taken with their car and driven off in it. I apologised to Kieran's mum, who didn't recognise me at first, and she said that we'd be able to get directions to the reception in the church... so we got those and bumped into several people I knew from school as we did so.
We got to the reception fine, although I wasn't expecting it to cost to park there! In the end we had a REALLY lovely evening. The speeches were funny. The food was nice (despite the lack of meat). And everyone and everything looked stunning, which is awesome considering (as the father of the bride pointed out) that they only had a few months to prepare for it!
Watching the first dance made me smile. Kieran had told me Naomi wasn't a good dancer (the words "two left feet" did come up), but you could see she was trying and as far as I knew they'd only had one lesson to help them out, so it was lovely and made me smile.
Once the disco area opened up it was more relaxed. Kieran was obviously fed up of being the centre of attention and having his photo taken, although I convinced him to have one taken with me :D Had fun dancing like a fool with Cyan and some of the guys from LSST to cheesy music. Joining Kieran on his big day was brilliant and to have my sister with me was nice, too :3
The drive home was a lot less stressful... which was helpful as we didn't leave til midnight (the guy at the multi-storey car park found us amusing, I think, as I drove my car down quickly, plonked it by the exit and tottered off to find the paying machine, followed by the other guys who still needed to even get to the top of the car park and drive the car down!). We didn't get home til 2am and I went straight to bed, preparng to get up at 8am so that I could top up the car in time to return it and then we had grab a bus and get home to do a tidy of the house before parents got here!
All done, now I need to revise aaaaaall this week ready to go and pass my Animal Trade exam at 9am on the 1st September - fingers crossed! xx

| Little Miss Rose |
[19 Aug 2008|12:11pm] |
The other day, I was invited to join a group to raise awareness for a little girl called Rose. She was born in September, 2006 and is epileptic, hypotonic, blind and "globally delayed in every area". Despite all of this, her mother is finding it really hard to get any sort of support, because, according to a lot of support groups she isn't disabled until she's three years old! The mother is unable to transport her child because she doesn't have suitable transport for her (she's too big for a lot of baby seats, but unable to hold herself up!) and for a long time she and her other two daughters were housebound, as she couldn't transport anyone anywhere
For more information, you can visit http://www.littlemissrose.co.uk/news.php to see the blog and I'm guessing there will be more information up there soon (it seems like a relatively new site)
I'm just posting this up because... well, I think that maybe if this is passed around enough then it might reach someone who can do something about it...
Rose has a lot of medical proof that her mother needs a help to be able to lead her life with such a heavily disabled child and yet she is struggling along by herself just because her child hasn't living long enough? Ridiculous...

| Mum's in Spain - day 1 |
[18 Aug 2008|11:46pm] |
Probably the only day I'll bother writing in here, but ah well... it's been a productive day and it's so nice and quiet and... just get on with life-ish! Mum, Cliff and Kezia have all gone to Spain for the week, so me and my brothers and sister are... well, sort of home alone, but not.
Today I fed the rabbit I'm looking after, had a shower, got dressed... did some washing, revised a bit, hung washing outside and did MORE washing once that lot dried... sorted out the second set of washing. Re-fed the rabbit and put him away (he ran straight into his little pen bit this evening - yay!).
I cooked the boys some toad-in-the-hole with broccoli, peas and sweetcorn and they seemed to like it :D It didn't get burnt and everything was ready at a similar time, so that was a victory for me... ok, so Brick decided that he'd go on a mission through the cupboards, looking for instant mash to go with it, but... well, it's Brick!
Should be a good week of revision and... quietness. Maybe. Tomorrow is my final day of having my own room. It's gonna be weird when Cyan gets back - she'll have been away for 10 days! I'll have to tidy up... should be too much trouble! And I have lots of clean clothes - yay :D I'm planning to see some friends and stuff... if I didn't have revision to do I'd probably be seeing people in the evening and I'd hopefully have a job so I could afford to! Cos as things stand right now I am pooooooooooooor
Yesterday was fun. Met up with Skep and some other guys and watched them blow each other/other people up... "Woo" :P we got tasty EVIL food and that was pretty awesome... evil food is best :D
Ok, that's about it... I have another animal-sitting job set up in mid-September, I'm meeting up with a friend just before that who I haven't seen in AAAAAAAAAAAAGES aaaand I'm seeing Elliot Minor in November - woopwoooooop :D Excitementation :3

| Out in Lincoln |
[10 Aug 2008|06:52pm] |
Yesterday couldn't have gone much better :D I managed to get things tidied to a reasonable standard and people arrived earlier than hoped, giving us all time to chat about life and catch up a little bit before putting pizzas in the oven and people stole showers. We ate and talked and got ready and gathered downstairs in the dining room to have some drinks and then Lisa came in with a cake! I wasn't expecting a cake :x She pointed out that they'd got me one before we left but they forgot - I hadn't even noticed I didn't get one, lol :) And it got fired in the bin! Shocking people
We left on time with me telling Brick to meet us there, because didn't want to miss the bus. Quite useful that we did, cos we only managed to get the bus by waving wildly at the bus driver and looking all party-like, I think, hehe :) The driver was good to take us on and I had to get Brick to run cos she was being a bit tetchy about being late and then we got to sit at the back and chatter. Another group got on and it turned out it was a young lad's birthday too... we said they weren't as cool cos they didn't have a purple balloon (I have a star-shaped purple balloon attached to a bangle on my wrist with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKY XX" on it :D)
We get off at Lincoln and march toward Wetherspoons before I change my mind and say to go to LN2 because it would have more comfortable seats. Turned out all the best seats were taken, but we still got a nice high table thing and sat and took photos and laughed at Uni things (amongsth other things). They had a vendor thing with lipgloss and mascara in it! It was amazing! But yeah, once people finished drinks I made the orders for us all to move on to Wetherspoons because it was getting to a reasonable time to be out (everyone was complaining about 7:30 being too early and I pointed out that, to be fair, what we were doing in LN2 was pretty much what we'd be doing at home so we might as well do it as the beginning of our night out)
We went via the hole-in-the-wall at Natwest and had a couple of guys talking to us all and taking photos with them and asking where they should be going out. I sent him in the opposite direction and we walked off until I realised Stacey was still being accosted while Brick made sure she was ok. I walked back and told him to leave her alone and let me get on with my birthday XD
When we got to Wetherspoons, the man wouldn't let me take my balloon in! He said that he'd take it off of me and I offered that he was gonna burst it... for a while I was adamant that that was his plan (Brick confirmed, this morning, that there was that sort of tone in his voice, which made me feel less crazy) until I asked the questions in such a way that I was reassured he would be able to return it to me... we got in and it was packed, but we got some cheap drinks and managed to find a set of seats near each other and get more photos and chat some more and listen to good music until everyone finished there, at which point Brick pointed out that we should go to Quayside/Scream now and see if we can get stamps for free... so we left and I asked for my balloon back and announced triumphantly to everyone else that he actually didn't pop it!
I got the implication that we couldn't when we moved on, but we sat down in Quayside and got some good seats (they don't have the AWESOME sofa in there anymore!) and I got a strawberry cider on Brick's recommendation. It tasted like strawberry Carling to me, but I drank it all... although I did spray a lot of people with some of it after thinking it was too fizzy and forgetting that beery drink fizz up loads more than coke would.... hmmmmmm >.< Oh, and Brick decided to be clever and vault the seat-back to sit down... and landed on the table-bit of the seating... apparently his bum still hurts this morning XD
When drinks were finished and we were all ready, we ascended to Scream... I was a little concerned about it when we got in, because I knew it was an indie place, but everyone seemed to have a good time dancing around and found Lincoln people a lot of fun - woop woop. Brick told us all off if we weren't dancing... nobody really understood why, but it got me to dance, so that's ok! Even if he did later seem a bit cross about who I *did* dance with :S We all had a good time and at 2am I thought maybe we should try somewhere else... then Jo pointed out, once we left, that no one was gonna let us in... grrrrrr, lol :) But we got followed out by a couple of guys we were messin' with and they walked us to an eating place... well, started to until we bumped into another group of guys who everyone started chatting to. Apparently Stacey got some numbers and Lisa had conversations about picking up girls with a guy who used to live in Croydon.
Brick walked off at one point to go get food, I think... I quickly finished my conversation and excused myself to go grab him but by the time I caught up to the turning, I couldn't see him (it didn't help that I couldn't focus 100%, but shhhhh). So I talked to people and convinced them to eventually move on to get food... we got more followers and had one of the guys getting cross at me cos I wasn't listening to his instructions properly, lol. I called Brick when we were at the eatery and he found us and everyone was fed and mum was called and we were all squashed into her car and taken home XD Then bedding was grabbed, clothes were changed and we all just fell asleep, I believe!
Was a good night and I believe everyone agreed... apart from Brick and his sore bum... but they'll get over it ;) x
